Lisa began her professional journey by enrolling in a STAPS (Science and Techniques of Physical and Sports Activities) degree program specializing in Adapted Physical Activity (APA) in Font-Romeu. Her studies allowed her to discover numerous pathologies, which she then addressed through rehabilitation and/or re-education using physical activity. During her studies, she worked with a diverse clientele, including those with intellectual disabilities, addictions, and respiratory disorders. She graduated in 2007.
In 2009, she pursued the BPJEPS Equitation qualification specializing in Equestrian Activities. She worked as an instructor for several years, teaching and developing a biomechanical approach to functional equine gymnastics.
Then in 2015, Lisa returned to her role as a teacher of adapted physical activities. She works with chronically ill patients in a respiratory rehabilitation clinic where her role consists of retraining them for exercise through muscular and cardio-respiratory reconditioning.
It was in 2018 that she discovered the De Gasquet method (originating from Bernadette de Gasquet, a yoga teacher and physician), which focuses on the fundamentals of breathing and posture. This method revolutionized Lisa's practice, and she began training with the De Gasquet Institute, from which she graduated with certification. Throughout her journey, Lisa also pursued further training in various disciplines: Pilates, health yoga, abdominal and back exercises, and the physiology of pregnancy.
As a young mother, she then turned to early childhood and spent two years working in numerous nurseries, offering motor skills workshops to support the physical development of this very young audience discovering or perfecting walking.
In June 2022, Lisa moved with her family to the Sault plateau. Since then, she has been giving group and private lessons, based on the fundamentals of the De Gasquet Method, at the Daniel Du Lac hall in Belcaire 11340 and will start in September 2023 at the Dojo.
The goal : to strengthen the deep muscles, those of posture, which are inseparable from breathing exercises. To protect the back and pelvic floor by understanding the basic mechanics of our body and the importance of avoiding excessive abdominal pressure.
Correcting our posture and the way we move in our daily gestures.
Various topics are covered : Postural core strengthening and muscle strengthening, Back hygiene, Stretching, Fit Ball…
Lisa speaks:
In my approach, I also support expectant and new mothers with individualized physical care. I see this support as a privilege to be able to guide them during such a unique time in a woman's life.
In prenatal care, I aim for well-being, mobility, relief from certain ailments, and above all, making room for the baby by providing knowledge about biomechanical issues and possibilities for adaptation.
In the postpartum period, the goal is to promote recovery. We eliminate waste through breathing exercises, protect the weakened perineum, and support the abdominal muscles by teaching women to avoid excessive pressure and straining against gravity. We also learn how to move well in our daily lives with the baby. This work is all the more effective if it begins early (because everything is determined before 6 weeks, or almost! See B. De Gasquet).
For me, whatever the chosen discipline, there is one objective: to offer the participants in my classes the opportunity to "experience sensations", while acquiring bodily tools that can be reused on a daily basis.
